Description
Explorer.exe is responsible for the the desktop, taskbar, etc. It also is run like an application to bring up the Explorer application to view and change the contents of various media devices such as hard drives, DVD/CD media and flash drives. With Explorer, folders and files can moved, copied, renamed or deleted.
Depending on the version, additional features include handling network drives, sharing, file search, and burning CDs and DVDs.
