Invalid Repair file(s)... - [file] avast! will try to repair the file ...

Dialog text:

avast! will try to repair the file according to the Virus Recovery Database. Files with no database records usually cannot be repaired.

A number of common viruses can be repaired even without a VRDB record. In that case, however, the exact recovery is not guaranteed.
