This message can appear if an object (such as an ActiveX control, file, picture, or link) that is embedded in the document cannot find the target file that is specified in the link reference.
Links are static. That is, after defined in the document, they do not update automatically if the target file specified in the link is moved, deleted, or renamed. If a target file is moved or renamed, you will have to update the link information in the file accordingly. If the target file is deleted, you will most likely must remove the link.
In the case of an ActiveX control with link information to a required file that is not available (and that you cannot specify or change), the control might not function correctly if the required file cannot be found. If the required file cannot be found, it might :

Be temporarily unavailable from the network (such as a database server or Web site).
