If this is a new project that was imported or copied, it may be necessary to replace the existing properties file.
If in Eclipse, exit if running.
Rename the new project.properties file in case you wish to return to it later.
Copy a "project.properties" file from a similar known good project into this project. For example, if you're working on an Android project, copy another Android project file into your new project.
Start up Eclipse and review the project properties are set as desired.
Select the new project in Package Explorer and in the menu, select Project, Clean.
