Run the Window disk check and repair program CHKDSK as follows:
Open the Run dialog (Windows key + R) and type: chkdsk c: /f
Replace "c" with the drive letter you want Windows to check and repair if it's another drive other than C.
In many cases it will return with a question: Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
Save any open files and close all applications. Restart the system to have Windows complete the disk test and repair.
