Typically the easiest way to fix a damaged shortcut is to create a new shortcut and delete the old one.
To create a shortcut:
In Explorer, locate the program you want to run. This will typically appear under the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)" directory. Navigate to the desired folder and EXE file.
Right-click on the program, and select Create Shortcut.
On the desktop, click on the new shortcut to confirm it is operating without errors.
To delete a shortcut:
Right-click on the problem shortcut icon and select Delete.
When it asks to confirm, select the Yes button.
