Hard to find Settings
How to get fast access to Windows Settings
Window is exceptionally flexible and customizable, but there are so many
options and settings it is often difficult to find the one you want. You may even remember some setting exists, but have to hunt a bit
if you don't use it frequently. Worse, every major Windows version seems to
shift how you get to a option or setting just enough to add to our
If you're using Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit) or Vista (32-bit only), you can enable God Mode (yes, it's called that) and get quick and direct access to hundreds of panels and options. You create a specially named folder, where Windows magically provides all these links.
Open Explorer to a hard disk such as C:. We'll place the new God Mode folder in the root, but you can place it in a sub-directory as well.
Copy the following bold line into the clipboard (using Ctrl-C).
In the right pane, right-click, and select New, then Folder. Paste the line above into the new folder name box (use Ctrl-V).
Click on the "GodMode...." folder.
You can now select from each category, various settings and option dialogs.
The "GodMode" portion of the folder name can be anything and this will still function correctly. If you prefer, "Quick Settings" or anything else is fine, but keep the period, brackets and the digits and dashes in the folder name.
If you use a third-party file manager, you will likely see all the options without hard category breaks, but you can still select all of the options. If needed you can sort on the category column to get a similar organization as Explorer.
