The file cannot be played. Reasons for this include:
The file is corrupt
The file/codec is not supported
The required codec is not installed
There is no audio hardware installed
The audio device driver is not installed
The system is Windows NT or 2000 Terminal, which has no audio support
Dialog may appear differently depending on Windows style options and where it occurs.
Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play.

Solutions and Fixes
Check if a newer version of the software is available, and if so, download and install the update.
Check If Supported Format
WMP supports the following formats by default:
Windows Media formats file name extensions: .asf, .asx,
.avi, .wav, .wax, .wma, .wm, .wmv (v6.4 and later)
MPEG file name extensions:
m3u, mp2v, .mpg, .mpeg, .m1v, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .mpe, mpv2
MIDI file name
extensions: .mid, midi, .rmi
Apple QuickTime, Macintosh AIFF
Resource File name
extensions: .qt, .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .mov
Unix File name extensions: .au, .snd
version 1 and 2. Windows Media Player no longer supports the .ra, .rm, and .ram
If the file you are attempting to use has a different extension, it is likely the file format is not supported.
