Memory in the kernel (the core of Windows) was fatally overwritten. The kernel allocates a block of heap memory of a given size and likely due to a bug, writes to memory beyond the requested size of the heap block.
This is a fatal Windows error, typically called a Stop message, Bug Check, or more commonly the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD). The system is in a forced reboot state. Any unsaved work is likely lost.
