A SoC combines the CPU, Memory, various input and output subsystems and more. These are commonly used in Smartphones, but rarely if ever in PC desktops. Some common examples of SoC chips include NVIDIA Tegra, Qualcomm's Snapdragon, and Texas Instruments OMAP.  More information at Microsoft on SOC_SUBSYSTEM_FAILURE_LIVEDUMP.
