Did not properly generate ARC name for HAL and System path
Description
An old drive overlay program is installed on the drive and is incompatible with this version of Windows. The overlay runs prior to Windows and was used for very old systems that didn't support drives beyond 512 MB.

To use this version of Windows, you will have to remove the drive overlay. The drive overlay runs before Windows and was likely installed when you partitioned the disk drive via an old version of a program like Ontrack's Disk Manager (there are OEM overlay versions and other companies products in this category). Microsoft never creating a drive overlay, so you can't blame them!
To remove the drive overlay, you'll need the installation diskette for the drive overlay. Follow the vendor's removal instructions.

Erase Drive and Start Over

Delete the entire drive contents and start over. It will be necessary to first delete all partitions using a boot CD/DVD or diskette with partitioning software, then create a new partition and format the drive. All data will be lost by doing this!
