Check the web URL address. Perhaps there is an typing error. For example, you might need a "https://" style address rather than "http://".

Also check if the address has a non-standard character. The only allowed characters are A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and the symbols $-_.+!*'() (a comma is not allowed).

Remove Firewall Blocking

Your Firewall might be blocking access. While we don't recommend turning off the Firewall, you might check to see if the Firewall vendor has other options or perhaps a lower security setting.

To avoid conflicts you should avoid using two different firewalls at the same time. Most third-party firewalls automatically disable the Windows firewall when installed to avoid problems.

To access the Windows Firewall:

  1. Windows 8: Press - Windows key and X at the same time, then Control Panel.
    • Select Windows Firewall.

Windows 7 and older - Select Start, Control Panel
    • If in Vista Classic View or XP, select Security Center.
    • If using Vista non-Classic view, select Security, then Security Center.
    • If using Windows 7, select System and Security, then Windows Firewall.

  2. At this point you can view the Windows Firewall status. To change settings:
    • If Windows Vista/XP in the left pane, select Windows Firewall.
    • If using Windows 8/7, no additional action is needed.

  3. The left pane has options to enable or disable the Windows Firewall or to allow a specific program through the firewall.

  Notes

"400 Bad Request" is supported by most Web Servers.

The four hundred series of errors indicate something was sent to the remote web server incorrectly.
