403.14

Directory listing denied

  Description

The web server doesn't allow you to view the directory. For example you type an address like:

http://www.SomeSite.com/support

The web server will look for a default file in the support directory, and if the file is not found, it has the option to display the directory of files. The web server has been set up to not allow a directory listing here.

  Example

Windows
Server Error

403.14 - Forbidden: Directory listing denied.

The Web server is configured not to display a list of the contents of this directory.

Error messages will differ depending on the web server and if replaced by the web site designers.

  Notes

"403.14 - Directory listing denied" is only supported by Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) web servers.

The four hundred series of errors indicate something was sent to the remote web server incorrectly.
