Bad Request
Description
The web server (where the web site is hosted) could not figure out what you want. This might occur if there was a glitch in the data sent to the web server, some information on the address line is wrong or the web page has an error in it.
Example
Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Client sent malformed Host header
Web Server at ...
Error messages will differ depending on the web server and if replaced by the web site designers.
Occurrences
Frequency is relative to other Internet warnings and errors.
Solutions and Fixes
Solution 1 of 3 - Fix Web Address
41
Check the web URL address. Perhaps there is an typing error. For example, you might need a "https://" style address rather than "http://".
Also check if the address has a non-standard character. The only allowed characters are A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and the symbols $-_.+!*'() (a comma is not allowed).
Solution 2 of 3 - Try a Page Refresh
39
Click the refresh button in the browser. For most browsers, you can also press F5 for refresh.
It's not likely to work for this issue, but it's easy to try.
Solution 3 of 3 - Remove Firewall Blocking
42
Your Firewall might be blocking access. While we don't recommend turning off the Firewall, you might check to see if the Firewall vendor has other options or perhaps a lower security setting.
To avoid conflicts you should avoid using two different firewalls at the same time. Most third-party firewalls automatically disable the Windows firewall when installed to avoid problems.
To access the Windows Firewall:
Select Start, Control Panel.
If in Vista Classic View or XP, select Security Center.
If using Vista non-Classic view, select Security, then Security Center.
At this point you can view the Windows Firewall status. To change settings, in the left pane, select Windows Firewall.
The left pane has options to enable or disable the Windows Firewall or to allow a specific program through the firewall.
Official Explanation
The request could not be understood by the server due to malformed syntax. The client SHOULD NOT repeat the request without modifications.
"400 Bad Request" is supported by most Web Servers.
The four hundred series of errors indicate something was sent to the remote web server incorrectly.
