403.7
Client certificate required
Description
Some web sites require you have a special "certificate" to access the site. This typically occurs with higher security sites, such as a corporate web site for employee access only. You need this certificate to access the site.
Example
Server Error
403.7 - Forbidden: SSL client certificate is required.
The page you are attempting to access requires your browser to have a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) client certificate that the Web server will recognize. The client certificate is used for identifying you as a valid user of the resource.
Error messages will differ depending on the web server and if replaced by the web site designers.
Occurrences
Frequency is relative to other Internet warnings and errors.
Solutions and Fixes
Solution 1 of 1 - Get Valid Certificate
You will need to contact the web owners to get a valid certificate (what is called a client SSL certificate).
Official Explanation
[The following is written for the web site owner, so "you" referrers to the site owner/administrator, just to keep it confusing! - FaultWire.]
You have configured the server to require a certificate for client authentication, but you do not have a valid client certificate installed.
"403.7 - Client certificate required" is only supported by Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) web servers.
The four hundred series of errors indicate something was sent to the remote web server incorrectly.
