Instructions to enable JavaScript
Background
JavaScript is a language to enhance web sites not possible with HTML alone. It's currently used by millions of web sites to provide safe advanced functions.
For example, this site uses Javascript for menus that appear on the top area and also runs the FaultWire search engine. These features along with others are unavailable or will be degraded if JavaScript is off.
JavaScript is not dangerous since it can't write to your hard disk or other media. This means it is impossible to have JavaScript give you a virus.
Click on the Security Tab, and click on the Custom level... button.
Scroll down the long list of options to near the end. Look for the main option "Scripting" and then "Active Scripting". Set this option to Enable and click OK.
Click one more OK to exit.
To turn on JavaScript on (or off) in IE6:
Click on View, and select Internet Options.
Click on the Security Tab, and click on the Custom (for expert users) button.
Click on Settings.
Scroll down the long list of options to near the end. Look for the main option "Scripting" and then "Active Scripting". Set this option to Enable and click OK.
Click on the Apply button.
Firefox
To turn on JavaScript on (or off) in Firefox:
In the top menubar click on Tools, then Options...
In the options dialog, click on Content.
Toggle the Enable Javascript option so the checkmark appears in the box to the left.
Select the OK button.
Opera
To turn on JavaScript on (or off) in Opera:
Press F12 to bring up "Quick Preferences".
Toggle the "Enable Java Script" so that a checkmark appears.
